Post-Christmas Project
Every year at Christmas, we receive lots of fun, chatty newsletters, beautiful Christmas photocards, Christmas cards with lovingly hand-written sentiments, and other items that we would hate to throw away--and yet, what to do with them? (On a related note, recently, in the first Festival of Family Flair, there was a post about clever ways to re-use pretty Christmas card fronts. I recommend her ideas for that situation.)
My solution is a scrapbook I call "Family and Friends at Chritmastime." I purchased a 12x12 scrapbook specifically for this purpose. Then, each year after Christmas, I go through the cards and pick out the photos, newsletters, etc. that I want to use for the year. I generally separate them onto a two-page layout, with newsletters on one side and photos on the other. I make at least one pocket, usually for the newsletters. This year, I made the layout very simple and used a pocket on each side. The photo below shows this years' two-page spread at the bottom, in beige, and one from a few years ago, at the top, in pink.
If you want more detail about pocket pages, etc., please feel free to ask. If you decide to use my idea, I'd love to see the pages you create! And if you have other ways of keeping and/or displaying Christmas newsletters and photocards, I'd love to hear them!

What a nice way to use the newsletters! I always feel guilty tossing them out after reading them. :(
Glad to see you submitted this to the Festival!
Barb,
Frankly, guilt was a prime motivator for this project! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!
